There are many fall and winter accessory trends that don't seem to be disappearing in spring 2010.

It’s not yet winter, but the spring 2010 fashion shows have already come and gone, giving fashion insiders and followers a peek at what’s going to be in style for spring.

To the disappointment of some, the spring shows didn’t really offer any brand-new trends. Most of the looks seen were similar to those that have been gaining momentum in the past few seasons -- feminine dresses, loose trousers and clothes that are more modest than revealing.

The good news, however, is this means that spring doesn’t require a woman to buy many new items. Although shopping has increased a bit in recent weeks, most consumers are still saving more than they’re spending, and this doesn’t seem as though it’s going to drastically change anytime soon.

Therefore, there are current accessories that will still be relevant and fashionable once spring hits.

Vintage Accessories

The vintage look is not going anywhere soon, especially in terms of jewelry. Big statement necklaces (once referred to as “costume jewelry”) are still popular for spring, as are multiple bracelets and noticeable earrings. Perhaps it’s the stale economy that makes jewels appealing -- whatever the reason, jewelry (even inexpensive baubles) is worth taking good care of so that it’ll last multiple seasons.

Scarves

The amount of women wearing scarves during summer 2009 proved that it’s an easy trend to follow. So while gauzy, lightweight scarves may be put on hold until the weather warms up, they’re definitely worth saving for next spring.

The versatility of scarves is also appealing. If not worn around the next, they can also be used as a belt in a pair of jeans or tied around hair, as a headband or ponytail holder.

Pink Lips

Other lipstick colors come and go -- purple is a periodic suggestion in fashion magazines, but does anyone routinely wear it? Red lips are always a high-fashion statement, but can sometimes be overwhelming in warm weather or if one’s eyes are heavily made-up. Pink lipstick, however, is increasingly making a comeback. It flatters most skin tones, gives a fresh-faced look and there are numerous hue options, from bubblegum pink to deeper, red-tinged pink.

Hats

The more the economy mimics the 1930s Depression, the more ‘30s fashion seems to be in style -- and that means hats for women. There is a bevy of options to choose from, including berets, driving caps and wide-brimmed hats. Hats are great for cold, great for sun and always fashion-forward.
